Poem going on the moon

For the summer learning journey we had to write a poem about what it would feel like if you stepped on the moon.

I stepped on the moon for a few milliseconds. I couldn’t believe my eyes. I was really on the moon. I started to cry. I looked at the earth. To see. My parents or maybe im just insane. I was happy filled with joy. I heard a noise. I knew something was coy. Bye planet and I zoomed off back to earth.

I liked this activity because I like space.
What would you write for the poem?

  1. Kia ora Nicholas,

My name is Laura and I work for the Summer Learning Journey. Wow, you have done so many of the Summer Learning Journey activities already! Fantastic work!

I loved reading your poem about walking on the moon! I could really imagine what it would be like, from your descriptive poem. You have made some really interesting rhymes in this poem. I also really like some of the precise vocabulary (words) you use: milliseconds, insane, coy.

I'm glad you enjoyed writing a poem on the topic of space. Space is so fascinating isn't it? There is so much more left to learn!

I'm enjoying reading your blog posts!

    Best wishes,
    Laura
